wouldn't you think that on such formal documents one should have to state their full name and not shorten their middle names? it's just a bit weird. is there anyone we can ask? about this? like...he wouldn't be able to write 'Mike Joseph Jackson' on a legal document, so why can he shorten his middle name? straaaaaange.

Most of Michael's legal documents do state "Joseph". The 2005 court documents says "Joe", but the 1993 confidentiality agreement between him and Chandler says "Joseph". His kids birth certificates state "Joseph". Someone mentioned Debbie's middle name being different. Her middle name is Jeanne, but on Paris's birth cert it says Jean. Just an abbreviation. On Prince's it says Jeanne. Just my opinion that's all.

Just my experience:

I worked for a company in USA and on my documents I did not put my complete middle name as shown on the passport. All my documents were rejected and I was forced to go to an authority to verify that I was the person on my passport because of that lazy mistake.

I am surprised that LEGAL documents such a birth certificate would not state the legal name as shown in the ID.

I have an american friend who also happens to be a lawyer...I don't know why I didn;t think to ask him about this before But i'll call him tonight and ask and let you know what he says.
He's from Florida so I'm not sure if the laws may be different from state to state...but I'll ask him anyway.

there is no way it would..michael joe jackson and michael joseph jackson are 2 different people by law standards..i work for an insurance company, trust me...even if they put micheal joe jackson...that would not work and thats just a typo...

i have wondered many times... all the songs from MJ are registered in the name JOE. and also the passports say JOE... i have seen clips from court where they ask him to state his name and he says JOE... but there are also things as the kids birth certificates were is is JOSEPH... also the "dead certificate" states JOSEPH.. so im totally confused about this...

Okay I've got 2 things..

1) Michael's name JOE is just a short name for Joseph.. nothing bad about it.. My name is Marlies.. but everyone calls me Lies.. and because everyone calls me that.. I sometimes use "Lies" in stead off "Marlies"

2) He changed his name from Joseph to Joe, because he wanted to become his own person... (there we have the dave dave thing again) his dad's name is Joseph.. so if Michael would make that middle name Joe in stead off Joseph.. you got were I'm going to ?

we must start to look the dates of the documents, he change the name at some point in this history... after the birth of the kids for sure

and before 2005 trial, of course! they sais Michael joe jackson at that point...

In the 2005 trial he said Joe. I can´t find the video right now. I am on it.

imo its michael joe because thats what the american dream movie states, that what kathryns book states and lastly that what hte 2005 court docs say..so unless he changed his name to joseph and then changed it back to joe..its joe...

but of course maybe there is michael joe and then michael joseph for passport and other documents that need a legal name...i mean if someone walked around with a drivers liscence or passport and claimed to be michael jackson but they documents said "john smith" wtf...lol that would have gave away the hoax right?
